The quest will only open after completing Professor Hecate’s second assignment and learning the Expelliarmus spell. Make sure you have it in your arsenal before setting off on your quest.

Encounter with the Ghost of Richard Soika

Go to the flashpoint at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. The ghost is waiting there — talk to him and follow him to the point marked “Hogwarts, East North.” Richard won’t go any further: you’ll have to venture deeper into the forest on your own, using the marker on the mini-map for guidance.

The path will lead you to a new teleportation point—the Magpie’s Tomb. In the center of the clearing, you will see a stone font, which the ghost mentioned. Approach it and say the password—a stone portal will open in front of you. However, three goblins will try to stop you. To complete the duel feat, break your enemy’s shield with a throw of ancient magic. After victory, enter the tomb.

Three-sphere mechanism

Behind the entrance, you will find a locked door and three glowing spheres bearing the symbol of ancient magic. Quickly strike all three with your basic spell in quick succession — the door will open, revealing a magical bridge behind it.

Spider’s Lair

Burn the web in your path with the Incendio spell. This will provoke an attack from the spiked spiders. The trick here is to blow up one spider so that it hits another. The technique is simple: set one on fire with Incendio, then finish it off with a basic spell while it is still near its fellow.

If you choose the right path, prepare for battle. The duel feat is to lift a burrowing scurrior spider with the Levioso spell.

Secret chest on the platform

On the main path, turn right, climb the slope, and use Accio to pull the platform closer. Stand on it and use Accio again on the far attachment point—the platform will move to the other side, where a large chest is hidden.

Deeper into the caves

As you move along the main corridor, you will come to a narrow gorge. Spiders will attack from above, so be prepared. Beyond the gorge, you will find another door with three spheres. The third sphere is hidden higher and to the left of the others. Start with this sphere to activate the door successfully.

Platform system

The newly opened hall offers a fork in the road:

  • Straight ahead — continuation of the story
  • Right — small chest, and behind the cave with spider eggs — large chest
  • To the left — one small chest

Explore the side paths for additional loot, then proceed straight ahead. After a series of platform transitions, jump into a small pool of water.

Final Battles

Wave of spiders

Soon you will find yourself at the second assembled bridge. This is where a large-scale attack will begin. Dueling feats:

  1. Kill the spider with ancient magic
  2. Keep the enemy in the air for 10 seconds (combination: Accio → Levioso → Accio again after recharging)

After the first wave, two matriarchs of spiny spiders will appear with reinforcements.

The last mechanism

After defeating all enemies, activate the three spheres: one at the bottom of the slope and two on either side of the arch at the top. Stand as high as possible to reach the lower sphere and quickly hit all three. This mechanism allows for a little more time between hits.

The Skeleton of the Jay and the Guardians of the Memory Pool

The bridge will light up and the doors will open. Inside are the remains of Richard Sooke. Ollivander’s wand is broken, but the pages of the book are intact. Take them — this will activate the stone guards.

Order of battle:

  1. Several watchmen and guards of the memory pool
  2. The great defender of the pool of memory
  3. Two defenders at once

After victory, an arch will appear at the back of the hall. Activate the ancient magic point on the floor to open the portal.

Map Room

The corridor behind the portal will begin to flood, but ancient magic will protect you automatically. Continue through the next archway and climb the steps into a spacious hall with four golden arches.

Talk to Percival Rackham through the portrait—he will learn that someone has finally found his map room.

Talent System

After the conversation, access to talents will be unlocked. Points are awarded starting from level five. The maximum level is 40, so it is impossible to unlock all talents. Choose your development path carefully.

Distribute the available points and leave the room through the door behind you. A spiral staircase will take you to the lower levels of Hogwarts.
