The quest will take you to an ancient tower north of Hogsmeade, where you will face the first of a series of tests set by the Guardians. Below is a detailed guide for each stage.
Tower reconnaissance and encounter with goblins

The starting point is the Flying Powder fireplace near the San Baccara Tower. After a short dialogue with Professor Fig, activate the Disillumination spell and move towards the building.

Here, the game will remind you of the mechanics of stealth eliminations using Petrificus Totalus. Sneak up on enemies from behind while invisible—a hint will appear for instant neutralization.
What to look for inside the ruins:

When you exit the tent, the Loyalist Killer will appear with reinforcements — destroy all the goblins. Professor Fig will open the gate to the drawbridge, behind which a spiral staircase begins. At the top of the staircase hangs a portrait of Rackham — talk to him.

The Guardian will inform you about the activation of the Ancient Magic Reservoir below. Go back down: to the left of the tower entrance, you will find a glowing point. Interacting with it will open an archway portal to the trial itself.

The first test chambers

Go through the corridor and down the steps. At the end, there is another Ancient Magic point. Activating it will create a bridge over the chasm. Climb up and cross it, picking up the contents of the chests on the right and left if you wish.
The next room contains an archway and another magic point on the opposite side. After interacting with it, the archway will turn into a portal — step into the new corridor.

In the final room of this section, the Defender of the Memory Pool and two Guardians of the Memory Pool will awaken. Deal with them in any way you see fit.
Puzzles with platforms and the Akcio spell


You will need Akcio to pass the next section. The mechanics work as follows:
- Pull the floating platform toward you
- Jump onto it
- Use the Akcio on the hook rings to move
Route through the first hall with platforms:
- Pull the platform → move to the central column
- From the column, move right to the next platform with the Ancient Magic point
- Activating the point will open a portal in the arch on the left — behind it is a large chest
- Return and proceed to the far side of the room (two small chests).
- The final hook will allow you to enter the next area
Two more Defenders are waiting there. After the battle, climb the steps on the right, turn around, and pull the platform toward the streams of magic. Climb up and activate the point.

Portal trick: go through the blue side of the archway—the bridge will disappear, opening the way to a distant platform with a chest. Return through the portal, restore the bridge, and continue forward.
A challenging battle and puzzle with two platforms


A spacious corridor leads to a serious battle: two Defenders and five Guards. The priority target is the Guards. They are weaker, but their ranged attacks are extremely dangerous while you are busy dodging the Defenders.
After winning, go down to the right to the magic point. Check out the archway in the distance.
Solution to the final puzzle:
- Pull the platform closer and stand on it.
- Start pulling yourself toward the far ring, but release the spell when you are level with the portal.
- Through the portal, you will see a second platform — pull it toward you
- Both platforms will connect inside the portal.
- Go to the second one and make your way to the exit

Behind the doors is a large chest on the left and a bridge to a circular arena.
Boss: Guardian of the Memory Pool

Two Defenders and four Guards will appear in the arena first. Deal with them using the same strategy as before — prioritize the Guards.
Then, a giant Guardian of the Memory Pool will rise from the floor.

Key combat mechanics:

Collect Ancient Magic Orbs that drop during combo attacks. When the Guardian kneels, deal maximum damage: at this moment, he takes increased damage and drops more orbs.
The whirlpool of memory and the completion of the quest

After winning, cross the bridge to the hall with the huge statue and the Memory Pool. To the right of the bowl is a large chest.

What memories will reveal:

- Rackham’s training with Isadora Morgan, who is worried about her father’s illness
- Isadora at a more mature age — now a professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts
To return, use the crystal arch on the left. In the Cartography Room, examine the portrait of Charles Rookwood. Rackham will discuss the goblin threat with him, and Charles will decide to suspend the trials until the enemy’s plans are clear.

Tell Professor Fig what you saw. The first clue is the Three Broomsticks pub in Hogsmeade, where you can ask Sinora. After Fig leaves, talk to Rukwood: he will tell you about points of Ancient Magic in the open world that enhance your abilities.

The quest ends with a change of season — autumn arrives at Hogwarts.
