The Locket’s Secret

Start of assignment

The quest “The Secret of the Medallion” is activated after receiving a letter from Professor Fig via owl post. Leave the common room of your faculty and head to the Dark Arts Defense Tower — that’s where the professor’s office is located.

During the meeting, Fig will tell you about his discovery: the inscription on the medallion found in Gringotts concealed a map. It marks a forbidden area of the library, but the professor believes that your defensive magic skills are not yet sufficient to explore such a dangerous place.

Required: Professor Hikat’s assignment

Before continuing with the main storyline, you must complete the side quest “Professor Hikata’s Assignment I.” Return to her office, and she will teach you the Incendio spell (fire spell).

Requirements for studying Insendio

Training spell combinations

Head to the clock tower and find Lucan Brattleby. The exercise is simple: cast spells according to the prompts at the top of the screen. The main condition is to cast all spells before the training dummy falls to the ground. There are three rounds of increasing difficulty.

Dueling Club “Crossed Sticks”

After training, take part in magical duels against your classmates. In the first round, you will face two students, and in the second, three. Use the spells you have learned and don’t forget about defensive techniques.

Completion of the task

Once you have fulfilled both conditions, return to Professor Hikata. Complete the mini-game to learn the spell and add Incendio to your arsenal. From this point on, the number of available spells will exceed the number of slots in your active set — you can swap spells around to customize your set to suit your fighting style.
