This assignment is open exclusively to students of the Kogtevran Faculty. During the mission, you will help a famous master of magic wands find a long-lost family heirloom and explore the mysterious Sovyatnya.

Meeting with Ollivander

Hogwarts Legacy player walks toward Ollivanders wand shop exterior

Head to Hogsmeade to speak with Gerbold Ollivander. The wizard will ask you to find a special magic wand that disappeared many years ago. According to Ollivander, the wand was taken by someone named Jackdo, and the clue to its whereabouts can be found somewhere in the vicinity of Owlet.

Sovatni Research

Player character stands in Hogwarts Legacy owlery chamber

Once you reach Sovyatni, climb to the top of the building. Notice the small niches along the walls where owls rest—some of them have rings attached.

Search for Jackdo figurines

Use the Accio spell on each ring to pull the covers off the niches. The contents of the hiding places vary:

Type of findDescription
Empty nichesNothing useful
Bags of goldSmall monetary reward
Jackdo figurinesKey items for advancement

In total, you need to collect 3 Jackdo figurines in the first stage. Be careful: one of the niches is located quite high up — don’t miss it.

Activation of the mechanism

After collecting the three figurines, place them on the special pedestal beneath the Jackdo statue that is already visible. Then climb the stairs and repeat the procedure—use the Akcio on the rings again to open new hiding places. Here you will find additional bags of gold and two more Jackdo figurines.

Place the figures you found with the rest. This will trigger a cutscene: a powerful gust of wind will lift you to the top of Sovyatni.

Encounter with a Ghost

On the upper platform, you will encounter the ghost of Richard Jackdo. The spirit will promise to help you return both the magic wand and the missing pages of the book, provided that you meet him at the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

This concludes Kogtevran’s faculty assignment.
