The Hogwarts Legacy story quest unlocks access to the magical village of Hogsmeade. Here you will discover local shops, free recipes, and an unexpected encounter with a dangerous enemy.

The Way to the Village

Before starting the quest, the game will ask you to choose a companion — Natsai or Sebastian. Go to the selected character at the specified location, then follow them outside Hogwarts.

On the way, pay attention to the bushes with golden-eyed flies — this ingredient will come in handy for potion making. Collecting them is optional, but recommended.

Closer to the village, you will meet Mr. Moon, the caretaker of Hogwarts. While intoxicated, he will warn you about the Demimaskuses. Continue on to the entrance to Hogsmeade.

Visiting stores

Upon arrival, your companion will leave you to explore the village on your own. Most buildings are still closed, but four shops are open and can be visited in any order.

Tomes and Scrolls

Located in the southern part of Hogsmeade. Inside, talk to Thomas Brown — he will give you the following items for free:

Ollivanders

The shop is easy to find—it’s opposite the Three Broomsticks tavern in the center of the village. Ring the bell on the counter to summon Gerbold Ollivander. After a few unsuccessful attempts, the magic wand will choose you.

The wand customization menu will open: adjust its appearance to your liking. Once completed, the wand will synchronize with its owner.

J. Pippin’s Potions

The shop is located next to the West Hogsmeade fast travel point. Talk to Parry Pippin—he will give you two recipes for free:

  • Edurus Potion Recipe
  • Wiggenwald Potion Recipe

The Magic Neep

Northwest of the potion shop is Timothy Tisdale’s stall. He is standing outside — talk to him and you will receive a packet of dittany seeds free of charge.

Troll attack

After visiting all four shops, head to the satellite in the central square. At this point, two armored mountain trolls attack the village.

The locals will distract one of them, and you will have to fight the other. During the battle, the game will teach you the key mechanics:

  • Evasion — allows you to avoid attacks
  • Ancient Magic Throw — hurls surrounding objects at the enemy
  • Finishing blow with ancient magic — a powerful final strike

After defeating the troll, use the Reparo spell to restore the destroyed stalls, buildings, and stacks in the square.

Then pop into Gladrags Wizardwear nearby. The owner, Augustus Hill, will give you a set of robes as a thank you for saving the village.

The Three Brooms Tavern

The next destination is the Three Brooms tavern. On the way, you overhear a conversation between Victor Rukvu and Ranrock—they are clearly plotting something.

Enter the tavern to avoid detection. Inside, you will be greeted by the proprietor, Sirona Ryan. Soon, Rukvu and his henchman Theophilus appear, leading to a tense confrontation.

Sirona sends Rukva away, after which you and your friend decide to return to Hogwarts.

Back to School

After leaving Three Brooms, open the map and use the flying powder to quickly travel to your living room.

Quest: Welcome to Hogsmeade completed.
